DAY 1 - The group arrive Beijing Airport and transfer to hotel to freshen up. In the afternoon, we will visit Yu Yuan Tan Park to look for resident birds and migrants. In the late afternoon/evening, we will visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City with their resident Azure-Winged Magpies. (L/D)

DAY 2 - This morning we will head north from Beijing for about two hours to an excellent new site in the mountains. In the afternoon, we will return to Beijing to bird in the grounds of the Summer Palace. (B/L/D)

DAY 3 - We will leave early morning for the four-hour transfer
to Beidaihe by coach and will arrive at noon. After lunch, we will make
out way up to the Lotus Hills to bird. (B/L/D) |

| DAY 4 - Whole day bird at Lighthouse Point in Lotus Hills. Lunch will be box meal reserved at KFC in Lotus Hills Park. (B/L/D) | |
| DAY 5 - Sand flats- Yang He Estuary- Stone River Reservoir (B/L/D) |

| DAY 6 - Great Wall at Jiaoshan Mountain. If time permitted, we will visit the Great Wall at Shanhaiguan, where the wall meets the sea- known as the "Lions Head". Other possible species include Chinese Goshawk, Large Hawk-cuckoo, Godlewski’s & Siberian Meadow Buntings. (B/L/D) | |

DAY 7 - Today we will make a two-hour drive to the
north to
visit Old Peak of Zushan, a mountain forest reserve rising to over 4000
ft. where we stay overnight.

| DAY 8 - We will spend most of the day at Old Peak, leaving last after noon to return to Beidaihe for a further two nights. (B/L/D) | |
| DAY 9 - Beidaihe Sand flats – Yang He Estuary (B/L/D) | |
| DAY 10 - Today we head south to Jin Tang for a three-night stay stopping at various sites en-route. Da Pu He South of Beidai this is an area of mature trees, open grassland and marshy pools that can attract a good variety of birds whilst Chi Li Hi is a large tidal lagoon that can give good views of waders and gulls if the tide is right including Long-toed Stints and Terek Sandpipers. 11 -
Both days we make the short 30-minute boat trip
across the shallow estuary to the Yuetuo Island of famous Happy
Island (the boat will set out from Lao Yu Jia Poat). (B/L/D) |

| DAY 12 - We make the short 30-minute boat trip across the shallow estuary to the Puit Island of famous Happy Island and check the "Magic Woods" (the boat will set out from Lao Yu Jia Port). (B/L/D) | |

13 -
After checking "Magic Wood"
again, we
will head back to Beidaihe, stopping en-route. The day will be
entirely flexible depending on migration conditions and birds
present and we may arrive back in Beidaihe in time to revisit some
of our favorite sites. (B/L/D)

14 - We will have all day to revisit many of the local
sites. Then we drive back and stay overnight in Beijing.
